Tai Tapu Primary is one of the oldest schools in Canterbury dating back to 1875. We are proud of a long tradition of country education, which combines the benefits of a rural position with the opportunities of current educational practice. The school has fourteen full and part time teachers and eight auxiliary staff, all dedicated to facilitating the best education possible for each individual and aiming for the school motto:

“Excellence Through Effort "

We believe that our children thrive in a positive atmosphere where each child is treated with respect and their learning needs identified and catered for.
