The Yr 7/8 cricket boys played at Weedons against Ohoka on Thursday the 6th of September. We were asked to field and started off well, putting pressure on the batsmen and restricting runs. We made a breakthrough when Liam Robinson bowled the player out. Their second wicket partnership was a solid one and they started to make runs. Liam again broke this partnership, which was very timely. The boys started to find a good line and length and wickets started to fall. Brett Gillan bowled a fine four overs picking up 2 wickets for only 6 runs. Will Wroe also bowled well. Ohoka ended with 113 for 5 after 20 overs. We went in and had a fantastic first wicket partnership with both boys playing sensible shots. Will was eventually caught behind for 45. Brett and Liam hit the winning runs in the 15th over, with Brett finishing on 55 not out. GREAT EFFORT!!
