School Vegetable Garden

The children tending our plants in October ( see new album)

A huge thank you to Tui Garden products who sponsored us with Garden supplies and lots of healthy seedlings to get our Spring Garden planting underway. The children cleared the winter weeds and dug over the gardens, adding compost and blood and bone before planting. Check out the photos on the album.

We also had a fundraiser where we sold Kings seeds to our school community to raise funds so that we can put bark on the garden paths to keep the weeds and grass down.

We think the school compost and worm fertiliser have helped to grow our vegetables so fast. The produce should be ready for our giant school cook up in the last week of school.

We have raised seedlings and will sell those at the school Pet Show on the 2nd November.

A great sales job was done by the Eco warriors. They sold all the seedlings and raised the $150 which will allow us to place bark on the garden paths. We also scored all the compost which came out of the spud in a bucket competition. That will be great to put in the new garden bed we are planning.
